Create your own classic quilting projects with paper piecing.
Yes...this LOG CABIN background,
was made using paper piecing patterns.
.....Now here's how to use your very own paper piecing patterns to get a satisfactory result.
You'll be sewing on the printed (top)side of the paper pattern but your fabric will be on the unprinted (back) side.
The pattern pieces are numbered in the order in which you sew them together.
Each line of stitching holds two pieces of fabric together to the paper backing.
You need an auxillary light source which you use to "see through" your paper pattern to help position the fabrics you are using.
You need to have a lot of scrap fabric pieces gathered together and pressed nice and flat. I've been using paper foundations to make quilts to get very accurate blocks.
